What is Chiropractic?

Chiropractic is defined as the system of adjusting the bony framework of the human body and thus improving the biomechanics of the neuromuscular system. The aim of Chiropractic is to enable the human body to function at peak performance.

Chiropractors focus on the body's “ innate” (inborn and natural) strengths and defenses to heal itself without the use of drugs or surgery. They believe that misaligned vertebrae, referred to as subluxation, can interfere with normal body function, and if left uncorrected, can result in muscle and/or organ dysfunction, and other imbalances.

A chiropractor will determine after an initial exam, consultation, and in many cases X-Rays, if the patient's complaints can be alleviated and or controlled through chiropractic care. If patient and doctor agree that chiropractic care is an option, the chiropractor will begin to treat the patient to help restore the misaligned vertebrae back to normal position, allowing the body to heal itself naturally and maintain normal functioning.

Because chiropractic care is a drugless, non-invasive approach to preventing disease and maintaining health, in most cases it is also appropriate for infants, children and teenagers.

Optimize Health & Performance

  Sports

We treat all kinds and level of athletes from runners to swimmers, from tennis to golf, and from football to boxing and CrossFit.

  Scoliosis

Scoliosis is a sideways curve of the spine that causes stiffness and pain. It is called an idiopathic disease because the cause of it is unknown.

  Low Back Pain

Your low back is highly vulnerable and constantly under strain supporting your upper body. Poor posture, injuries, wear and tear, hereditary weakness, or excess weight can cause a variety of painful low back problems.

  TMJ

TMJ can cause severe problems if not treated properly, so it is recommended that you see Dr Andrew at EFSC who is a CCEP for TMJ dysfunction treatment options.

  Headaches & Migraines

There are several types of headaches; including tension, migraine and cervicogenic. Most people experience the tension headache, which includes moderate pain on both sides of the head.

  Work / Auto Injuries

The most common auto-related injury is Whiplash, or neck strain.

  Sciatica

Sciatica is associated with pain, numbness, and muscle weakness in the hip, buttock, leg, calf, and foot.

  Carpal Tunnel

Classic carpal tunnel syndrome includes numbness and weakness in the hand(s) with night pain, others could be forearm discomfort or shooting pains up the arm, swelling, peculiar hand symptoms, temperature sensitivities and finger soreness.

  Custom Orthotics

Orthotics are orthopedic devices designed to treat or adjust various biomechanical foot disorders.

Types of Orthotics

Functional Orthotics

Functional orthotics incorporate special wedges to adjust the heel or forefoot, correcting defects in the arch that cause poor shock absorption, such as excessive pronation (flattening of the arch) or supination (an arch that is too high).

Early Childhood Orthotics

Early childhood orthotics are special devices designed to correct biomechanical walking problems identified in young children. They include splints, gait plates and night bars - devices used to hold a child's feet and legs at a proper angle while sleeping, thus promoting corrective adjustment for excessive toe-in or toe-out walking.

Weight-dispersive Orthotics

Weight-dispersive or accommodative orthotics typically feature padding designed to relieve pain caused by excessive pressure on the metatarsal heads. Other accommodative orthotics are designed to treat pain and pressure on the sesamoid bones, collapsed tarsal bones, sores and chronically inflamed toes.

Supportive Orthotics

Supportive orthotics are arch supports usually prescribed to treat problems of the plantar arch.

Accelerated Recovery Protocol

What is an ARP?

The ARP is the unique proprietary tool designed exclusively for administering ARP Protocols. The ARP is a device (shown left), and the ARP Protocols are the tecniques administered to the patient. The ARP is precision-calibrated for deep penetration of injured muscle tissue without surface pain. Only licensed professionals can administer the ARP Protocols.

How does the ARP Work?

The ARP wave systems works on various levels of intensity, effecting the muscles differently:

Level 1: Background DC Wave: Increases blood supply, no muscle work. Good use: prepare muscles for sports activity.

Level 2: Active DC Wave: Increases blood supply, muscle work. Good use: Loosens muscles and muscles that are in spasm

Level 3: Active DC Wave: Significant muscle work. Good use: Strengthening

Who developed the ARP?

The ARPwave System was developed by Denis Thompson, the nation’s foremost authority on neurological muscle stimulation and Jay Schroeder, the creator of the EvoSport/UltraFit Strength Protocols, the nation’s leading authority on strength rehabilitation. The ARPwave System includes the ARP machine- our exclusive proprietary neurological stimulator, ARP Protocols.

Why does the ARP work faster than traditional methods?

By increasing blood flow, repairs injured cells and connective tissues, it quickly eliminates the non-productive muscle responses to injury. The electrical stimulation device (the ARP) possesses specification characteristics that are not found in any conventional therapeutic neuromuscular electrical stimulator (interferential, microcurrent, galvanic, Russian stim, iontophoresis). Deepest soft tissue penetration resonates with the human system, causing the body’s natural resistance to drop out.
